Welcome to Tennessee Avenue Animal Hospital, where our experienced veterinary team offers a Wellness Imaging Package to help keep your pet healthy through proactive, preventative care.
The Wellness Imaging Package is designed for routine care. It includes basic digital radiographs (X-rays) and an ultrasound, giving our veterinarians a detailed look inside your pet’s body even when they seem perfectly healthy. Radiographs show bones, joints, the heart, and the lungs, while ultrasound provides a real-time view of abdominal organs such as the liver, kidneys, spleen, and bladder.
Pets are experts at hiding discomfort, and many disease processes begin long before any symptoms appear. By adding imaging to your pet’s routine care, our Cincinnati veterinary team can catch these changes sooner. Early detection allows us to take a more proactive approach, such as starting supplements or changing your pet’s diet, to help slow down or even prevent the progression of some diseases. It also gives us a valuable baseline to compare against as your pet ages.

We strive to make every imaging visit smooth, gentle, and stress-free for your pet. Here’s what you can expect at Tennessee Avenue Animal Hospital:
Our veterinary team begins by reviewing your pet’s medical history and discussing any changes you’ve noticed at home. A physical exam helps us decide which views and areas to focus on during imaging.
Using digital X-ray technology, we capture images of your pet’s chest, abdomen, bones, and joints. The process is quick and painless, and our team handles your pet gently to keep them calm and comfortable.
Next, we perform a non-invasive ultrasound to evaluate your pet’s abdominal organs in real time. A small area of fur may be clipped to allow for clear images, and most pets tolerate the procedure well.
Our veterinarians review the images and walk you through the findings. If we see early changes, we’ll recommend next steps, which may include supplements, diet changes, or monitoring, so we can address concerns before they progress.

Routine imaging moves your pet’s care from reactive to proactive. Instead of waiting for symptoms to appear, our Cincinnati veterinary team can identify subtle changes early and act sooner, often with simpler, less invasive options.
Radiographs and ultrasound can reveal changes in organs, joints, and tissues before your pet shows signs of illness, giving us more time and more options to help.
When we catch disease processes early, we can often start supplements or adjust your pet’s diet to help slow down or prevent the progression of some conditions.
Wellness imaging creates a record of what’s normal for your pet, making it easier to spot meaningful changes at future visits.
The Wellness Imaging Package is intended for routine care, but it can be especially helpful if you notice any of the following:
If your pet shows sudden or severe symptoms, please contact us right away, as they may need immediate veterinary care rather than a routine visit.
Choosing Tennessee Avenue Animal Hospital for your pet’s wellness care means partnering with a team dedicated to excellence and compassion.
The Wellness Imaging Package combines basic digital radiographs (X-rays) and an ultrasound as part of your pet’s routine care. Many disease processes develop quietly before a pet shows any outward signs. Routine imaging helps us catch these changes sooner, so we can take a proactive approach, such as starting supplements or adjusting your pet’s diet, to help slow down or even prevent the progression of some diseases. Call (513) 242-2141 with any questions.
Our team will give you specific instructions before the visit. In many cases, a short fast beforehand helps produce clearer ultrasound images, while water is usually fine. Bring any recent medical records and let us know if your pet is anxious so we can help keep the visit comfortable. Call (513) 242-2141 if you have questions.
Routine radiographs and ultrasound can reveal early signs of arthritis and joint changes, heart and lung changes, kidney, liver, and bladder concerns, bladder stones, and masses or organ enlargement. Finding these changes early gives our veterinarians more options to manage them with supplements, diet changes, or other treatment.
