In-House Lab Testing

Our hospital uses the most up-to-date and reliable testing equipment so we can treat pets efficiently and effectively. For time-sensitive cases we can use our in-house lab equipment to run various blood or urine tests and get same day results. Additional tests we can run in-house include:

  • diagnosticsBlood chemistry
  • Complete blood cell count
  • Heartworm
  • Testing for tick-borne diseases
  • FeLV/FIV
  • Skin cytology
  • Fine Needle Aspirates (FNA)
  • Ear cytology
  • Fungal testing
  • Ultrasound
  • Urinalysis

Prevalent parasites like giardia can be difficult to detect in pets, so while we don’t send all fecal samples out for further analysis, we will if we feel additional testing is needed. Our veterinarians are happy to work with outside specialists to ensure the best possible diagnosis.*Healthy dogs should be tested for heartworm disease once a year. If your dog tests positive for heartworm, they will need to be treated immediately. For optimal protection against heartworm disease, your dog should remain on heartworm prevention throughout the year.

Digital X-Ray

XrayOur staff are skilled in operating our digital X-ray machine, which produces sharper images in far less time than film X-ray equipment. Along with allowing us to examine your pet's bones for fractures, arthritis or signs of deformity, we can also spot tumors and detect foreign bodies. Since our X-ray procedures are non-invasive and take less time than traditional X-rays, we generally do not need to sedate our patients for this procedure.Additionally, should it be needed, we have the capability to consult with a board-certified radiologist.
