Urgent Care
Tennessee Avenue Animal Hospital offers urgent animal care to Cincinnati and surrounding areas during regular operating hours. Whether your pet appears to be sick, injured, or simply isn't acting normal, our team will accommodate you and your pet immediately. While we do recommend calling in advance so our veterinarians and technicians can prepare for your arrival, we understand that this is not always possible. We will promptly assess your pet for treatment and do our best to answer your questions and ease your concerns.
Is Your Pet Having An Emergency?
If you're concerned that your pet may have eaten something poisonous or is behaving strangely, please call us right away so we can help you determine the next best step. To recognize when an emergency is taking place, look for these indicators:
- A rapid or irregular heartbeat
- Pale pink or white gums
- Pet is unable to walk or stand
- Showing signs of pain
- Heavy bleeding from nose or mouth, unable to walk
- Blood in stool/vomit
- Seizures/convulsions
- Loss of consciousness
- Possibility of broken bones
- Blunt force trauma or other injuries
- Distended abdomen Painful abdomen
- Foaming at the mouth
- Trouble breathing (panting heavily, choking, coughing)
- Pet appears disoriented, unable to walk normally, falling down
- Elevated temperature (ears are warm, nose is warm and dry)
